Rent a Villa to Vacation on St. Croix!
"Pelican's
Paradise"
Pelican Cove is a beautifully landscaped
development with a huge swimming pool at the edge of the Caribbean Sea. I
stayed in Pelican's Paradise condo for 3 months while working on St. Croix
and found it to be just great. It has a fully equipped kitchen - I like to
cook. I also enjoyed cooking on a really nice gas grill on the back porch
while enjoying ocean views. The place is immaculately clean with all the
modern conveniences. Last, and certainly not least these days, is that
Pelican's Paradise has excellent internet. I streamed football games on my
laptop and watched Netflix movies on the big screen TV in the living room.
Bottom line - I stayed 3 months and hated to leave.
Thank you Anne for
helping us to secure this accommodation! Your response times were
immediate and your services were excellent. We were very happy with the
condo. It was spacious, spotless and well-kept. Fans were in every room.
The kids loved the huge bathtub and Jacuzzi. There were well-thought of
details from the gel mat at the kitchen sink to the soap dishes in every
bathroom. Since I enjoy cooking, I very much appreciated that there were
even pantry items for example, spices and olive oil in the cupboard and
staples in the refrigerator (mayonnaise, relish.) Our family prefers to
stay in a condominium vs a resort hotel. The complex which our apt. was
located was in a private, quiet area directly on the beach not far from
Christiansted. The pool was very large and well-maintained. We liked that
there was hardly any activity or people on the beach directly in front of
complex. But for children, this beach is quite rocky and not ideal for
swimming or playing in the sand. The neighboring Palms beach is the only
area where one could actually swim and build sand castles. Unfortunately
(possibly due to the season) there was an incredible amount of seaweed
ashore and in the waters so swimming was concentrated in a small area.
Should we return to St. Croix, we would definitely want to stay in this
condo. response: "Thank you for your kind & thoughtful review -
it was a pleasure to work with you too! Yes, Pelican's Paradise condo is
delightful and glad you enjoyed it! As to the seaweed that's not normal
and just came in this summer and thankfully has already gotten better.
Sorry you had to experience that...guess it was a trade off this year
between the seaweed or a hurricane! We look forward to welcoming you back
for another visit (with no seaweed next time).
Sunny Paradise…

Had a wonderful stay at
Pelicans Paradise in July. The condo is very spacious and equipped with
everything we needed. Very comfy. The kitchen is new with lots of dishes,
pots and silverware and all the basic appliances. Even the cupboard was
well stocked with spices from previous guests. We made chocolate chip
cookies one night and fresh mango smoothies every night. Lucky for us I
think July must be peak mango season with locals selling fresh mangoes
along the road side. The breakfast bar was great for a quick snack but we
liked eating breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the outdoor gallery when
we weren’t out on the town. The view from the kitchen, large living room
and gallery look out over the tropical grounds and on to the beach and
ocean. We used the gas grill out on the gallery to grill up some steaks
and burgers and hot dogs several times. The condo is an end unit with lots
of windows to catch all the ocean breezes, we only ran the AC
occasionally. When the AC was on we could not even hear it running inside
or outside and plenty of cold air. Very quiet and no walk-by traffic in
front of the condo. This condo is also two-story with the kitchen, living
room and large dining room on the lower floor and bedrooms on the top
floor. There is also a powder room downstairs along with nice full sized
washer and dryer in the condo made quick work of our laundry. Everything
in the condo was very clean and fresh and new looking. The master bedroom
is huge and has its own private gallery through these large glass sliding
doors which also overlooks the palm trees and looks out to the beach and
ocean. We loved waking up every morning and looking out at the ocean. And
the private master bath is like a spa with a whirlpool tub, large shower
big enough for dancing in, and lots of big fluffy towels. We were
surprised to have his and hers walk-in closets, the first time we have had
that in a condo. There was a notebook full of helpful information on the
condo and the island and restaurants in the living room. We used the
snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels and cooler in the condo several
days to go explore different beaches on the island. One night we went to
jump-up in downtown Christiansted and had great street vendor food. We
also liked the Mango Melee a week later with more street vendor food. The
condo is centrally located on the North side of the island, very quiet
setting but only 5 minutes from down town Christiansted, close to grocery
stores, and easy to get to anywhere else. There’s a short drive through a
residential neighborhood to the entrance that is shared between the Palms
hotel and the Pelican Cove Condos. The condo grounds are landscaped with
lush tropical trees and plants and the buildings are classic Caribbean.
Unlike many other condos we have stayed at Pelican Cove Condos have a very
resort like feel from the moment we drove in. The condos are right on the
Pelican Cove white sand palm tree lined beach. The beach in front of the
condos is huge and lounge chairs are provided at the beach. The pool is
huge as well and no chlorine or salt with lap lanes and a waterfall and a
nice shaded cabana for lunch (bring your own though). There is also a
large hot tub at the pool. The adjacent Palms hotel a short stroll away
has a nice restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has
entertainment on Sundays and Monday nights. The coral shelf just off the
beach at the condos makes swimming there not possible. But that’s no
problem as a little further walk down the beach in front of the hotel
restaurant is fine for swimming and snorkeling. We are already planning
our next trip to St Croix and Pelicans Paradise and it can not come soon
enough.
