COTTON HOUSE - 3 bedrooms/3 bedrooms. The Cotton House is over 5,000 square feet of living space, covered gallery, covered and open patios. The house and grounds are surrounded by a stone retaining wall, which adds to the privacy.
The stone pathway welcomes you in to the mahogany entrance into the house. Fragrant frangi pani, night jasmine and gardenia hedges line the walkway to the entrance.
Tropical elegance on a special beach, sparkling blue and turquoise water, unbelievable views and soft breezes - that is what awaits you at the Cotton House beach.
Set high on its terraced lot, the house and gallery provide exceptional views of the National Sea Shore, Buck Island, and the lovely sailboats that visit daily.
Whether it is relaxing by the sandy shores, snorkeling or diving into a nearby reef (50 feet away), exploring an underwater shipwreck, or engaging in a vast array of water sports (sailboating, wind surfing, parasailing), the Cotton House has it all.
A 40-foot gallery runs the full length of the house and is beautifully appointed with mahogany colored rattan furnishings, a glass top dining table that seats eight and two pairs of designer chaises.
The very large (20' x 40'), deep (8' in deep end), white-tiled pool provides ample room for the lap swimmer, floats and relaxing.
A cabana offers a shady area and steps leading down to the beach.
Explore the beach - beachcombing, snorkeling and swimming right at the bottom of the property. Take the Danish style steps down to the water. It's pebbly but great for snorkeling right outside the property; however, you can walk the beach and it turns into a lovely white beach for swimming or more exploring!
Time to go inside? Experience the ambiance .. . The living room is furnished with twin abaca and mahogany sofas, two comfortable matching abaca and mahogany chairs, lovely palm fronds and T.V. cabinet, mahogany tables, and unique collectibles including a large clock and monkey sculpture. Original art decorates the walls.
The dining area features eight chairs and four kitchen bar stools are in the Mata Hari style and beautiful mahogany. The glass top dining table easily seats eight. A tall glass breakfront and desk add extra charm and serving area as does the mahogany server which also converts to a game table. Lovely placemats and tables settings are available for your use.
The large gourmet kitchen is appointed with the very best in Calphalon cookware, crystal and Williamsburg shell flatware. Appliances include separate icemaker, garbage disposal, and side-by-side refrigerator with through the door ice and water. The beautiful views of the Caribbean turquoise water with the distant sailboats and Buck Island are amply available from the kitchen which is slightly elevated to enhance the view.
The gardens have been planted to provide privacy, beauty and the wonderful sense of the most pleasant smelling flowers in all of the Caribbean. Sweet smelling frangi pani greet from either side of the walkway. Night jasmine abound. Gardenia hedges line the front and the pool. These gardens are exceptional and provide a wonderful complement to romance and privacy.
